I spent a short amount of time in Green Ridge State Forest yesterday afternoon. By short I mean about 30 mins. In those 30 mins and approximately three tenths of a mile walking I encountered an excellent sampling of Northern Metalmarks. This is the best display in some years IMO. The normal “let’s weed whack everything” up the hillsides has not taken place (yet) this year and it shows. Let’s hope Maryland uses better judgement in roadside clearing / spraying practices going forward. One can always hope(:>
