Saw my first of season Eastern Tailed-Blues along the Old Farm Trail this morning while birding at SS WMA. Also seen were Spring Azure and Zebra Swallowtail.

Sleepy Creek WMA

The Eastern Tiger Swallowtails were out this afternoon in the biggest numbers I’ve seen this spring. Also present were Zebra Swallowtail, tons of Juvenal’s Duskywing and a couple Sleepy Duskywings. An image is posted here. I look forward to any comments.

Henry’s Elfin in Berkeley County

I found and photographed my lifer Henry’s Elfin on private property near Hedgesville, WV last week. I was there attempting to get some photos of Falcate Orangetip but they were not sitting still. This beauty showed up.
